I have assembled a wide variety of experiences during my years of work and education. I have worked as a journalist, advertising copy writer and designer; and teacher of adult learners in the areas of fine art, art history, and garden design. For 16 years, I owned a operated a successful garden design business and, more recently, taught in a local elementary school for six years as a fifth grade teacher, specializing in reading and, especially, writing. My teaching style is based on patience, creativity, and an understanding that everyone has different learning style. It is very important to me that I offer different approaches or different examples or ways to learn. Some kids learn visually, hands on, orally ext.
