My comments on tutoring Composition : I have lots of experience teaching 5 and 7 paragraph essays, research reports, and how to quickly craft an essay for the GED or SAT. I know the formats and how they are scored and can teach them to you for success.

I homeschooled my three daughters for 10 years, right through high school. All three have gone on to Colllege and have excelled, making the Dean's list. Composition is one of my top subjects! I have taught composition for grades 7-12 and on the university level.

Student centered instruction is the approach I use in my instruction. That means that the student's needs and learning style direct the way the information will be delivered and activities that will guide the learning. Students learn best by doing, so I only lecture for small amounts of time.
