Learn with experienced, successful tutor

My style of tutoring is creative flexibility. I assess the student's learning style and try to adapt to that, using different senses (kinetic, aural, oral) to trigger best responses. However, this is layered over a basic multi-part structure suited to the subject. I also like to set up a schedule of what our hour will be like, with some beginning exercises (usually recall from previous session). The rest of the hour would be structured with student input as much as possible. At the end, I like to introduce some free time to talk about the lesson and about any new ideas.
I have a masters degree in Enviornmental Biology and a BA in pre-med sciences. I also have an AA degree in Dietetics. My other hat is a long career in writing, editing, and publishing. I spent 3 years subsituting in the Sacramento USD system while I went to school for my credentials. I then taught in a pull-out RSP program in 4th and 5th grade ,1/2 time and a high school push-out RSP program the rest of the day. I have also taught 3rd grade. In the past I spent 3 years teaching driving and I have been a sales trainer. I home-schooled my daughter, and she is in college now with a 3.oo gpa.
