I passed the ASVAB and served in the Marine Corp from October 2004 to October 2008. I was a motor transport operator. I served two tours in Iraq. I am a leader and believe that I will be a great asset to helping others in their desire to join the military. My extensive training in the Marine Corp gives me knowledge and experience to help others achieve success while learning the necessary skills to become a more knowledgeable person. I worked at Learning Center in Tupelo, MS for a year as a proctor for government issued tests and a mathematics tutor. I have not received my Elementary Education Bachelor's Degree yet, however, I am in the process of receiving it. I will graduate Dec. 2011. I have taken 21 hours in Mathematics so far at the college level, and love working with children. I have had to tutor from first grade to college level. I know that I do not have my Bachelor's yet, but maybe I could at least be reviewed. Thank you for your time. I believe however the child needs the information, is how I will teach. My teaching style varies based on the age of the student. I like to be a little more animated with my k-6 graders. On the other hand, with my 7-12 graders I focus more so on making a connection with the material--showing them how it relates to them. I have always enjoyed assisting our youth work through various academic endeavors. I have been tutoring grades k-12 for several years now. I have helped all ages with a wide variety of assignments.

As a student in high school, I always have had a passion for math, as well as a passion to teach. I love teaching because of the feeling of helping someone who is truly struggling in class! I believe that everyone can learn, but some teachers styles don't match up with the students learning style. I am a very patient and considerate person. I am a firm believer that many students can't learn strictly through theory and need to be walked through example problems. Walking through problems gives them a better visualization of what they are trying to solve. As a recent college graduate, I understand the high expectations and the stress that it can cause a college student, especially coming from a school where most professors expected students to teach themselves concepts.
