A Little Bit About Me...

My experience teaching started when I worked for Northlands Job Corps Academy. The students that I helped usually came to me not for their classwork, but because they held an interest in learned how their computers and personal devices worked. I feel that most learning comes from performing an activity rather than being lectured, so I prefer to give students a chance to perform the work after I show them a few basics (supervised of course).
I am a Senior Computer Science major at Siena college; my programming experience covers a range of languages, although my strongest is Java. I am currently certified by CompTIA as an IT Technician (A+ Certification), and have built 5 personal desktops over the years for clients. My understanding of science has been strengthened by completing 30 graduate credits in biology related fields and 23 graduate credits in chemistry. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in chemistry, including honor and advanced placement chemistry.
