A Little Bit About Me...

After earning my BS in Elementary Education from Indiana University I took a teaching position with INSCCAP in 2008. My primary responsibility is to assess development and individualized education needs of the children in my class. I continually annecdote my students abilities and based off of those observations I create activities and lessons that focus on the subjects/ skills I see my students struggle with. In 2009 I became a homebound instructor with Monroe County's School System. I am responsible for working with children who hold IEPs and can no longer work successfully in a regular classroom. I have worked with all age groups, but I have found my strength to be with Elemenary School aged children.

While hands on manipulatives may be very helpful to one student, another may flourish under the power of logic. Understanding how a student makes sense of a topic can be crucial in deciding which strategy or technique may be the best. I graduated in May, 2010 from Indiana University with a BS in Biology and a minors in Environmental Management and African American Diaspora Studies.
