I have experience as an instructor while in the Marine Corps, and during that time I have found that I am really suited to teaching. The idea of giving new knowledge to people of all ages is an exciting one. I have done some substitute teaching at Athens Elementary School. I have found that I get along well with children and that they like me.
I have found that children like me and will listen to what I have to say. I try and teach the best way possible according to each child's needs. I am patient and will take as much time that is needed to teach your child. To me time is of no importance compared to children's need to learn.

For the past five years I have been a substitute teacher for MSAD 58. Grade levels I have experience with include K through 12. While I have subbed in all subjects, I really enjoy working with secondary level students in mathematics. A few years ago I filled in for a high school teacher for six weeks. I even got to plan lessons and grade work. I really enjoyed the time I spent with these students helping them pass their Algebra Competency exams.
Because I have substituted at all grade levels and with all ability levels, I know how different each and every student learns. For three years at Geneva College (2007-2010) I served as a math tutor, tutoring underprivileged, unmotivated, underachieving students at the local high school. Although I loved mentoring the young adults, unfortunately because of relocation back to Maine I was unable to continue the job. Finally for another 3 years I worked as a junior high and high school math tutor in high school. Once again I was unable to keep this due to relocation to college but I learned a lot and look forward to continuing my tutoring career.
I love teaching and interacting with all students, although my preference is junior high and high school as I have helped out in these areas before.
