My philosophy is that education is power. Knowledge is our greatest defense and our greatest weapon. Through knowledge we gain experience, which enriches our competence, which protests the ills of society, which leads to a social justice, and most important, liberty. Learning is an activity that we should never stop, and if we do, we begin to die. I believe all children can learn given the appropriate avenues to success. Part of our job is to find those avenues and encourage our students to use them.
I have been substitute teaching for 5 years. Within that time I decided that teaching was for me and went on to get my degree and certificate to teach. I have completed several long-term substitute teaching positions, picking up where a teacher left off, often times unexpectedly. I have taught classes in the elementary, middle and high school.

As a graduate of a SUNY school I had the pleasure of studying with people from all walks of life. I earned a Bachelor in History which I find vital for the development of our modern world. My writing skills have been developing since my High School studies and it only prepared me for my college writing assignments. I worked in South Korea for one year teaching and tutoring student ranging from 5 years to 16 years old children. I was responsible for setting up a daily curriculum and controlling the classroom.
