My comments on tutoring Guitar : I have 20 years experience working with students from beginner to advanced. Adult students are welcome.

I make sure each student receives a real music education and becomes comfortable with a music theory foundation, I expose all students to reading and encourage them to become good readers, which will set them apart from many guitar players out there. A good portion of the lessons focus on repertoire, with the student choosing the majority of the material.
I have about 20 years of one-on-one teaching experience working with all types of aspiring guitarists. I have been playing for 30 years, and have performed close to one thousand times in various small jazz groups, both as a leader and a sideman. I have also sustained original rock projects and played in large ensembles. I have produced large scale concert events and handled the booking for several music venues.

I prefer to teach towards the student, meaning working not only on the students strengths but also their weakness. By doing so, the student will be able to play at their highest level. Specifically, teaching the guitar is much more abstract than learning Math or English. The guitar takes coordination, hearing, and soul to learn. I plan on teaching every student not to just play songs but how to truly play the guitar.
I have now been playing the guitar for roughly eight years. Performing at school concerts to charity events and now playing gigs at local clubs and restaurants, I am venturing off towards the directions of teaching the instruments to willing students. My comments on tutoring Guitar : The basics of performing and songwriting with acoustic or electric guitar. Setup and maintenance.

In both my technical business and music coaching backgrounds, I take two different approaches: - In a group class, I teach structured lessons with engaging group exercises where possible and time for Q&A. - In individual coaching, I assess each learner's intrinsic motivations (mastery, learning, recognition, etc.) for taking the lessons and then structure assignments that apply to and challenge these motivators.
As a Product and Project Manager with over 10 years of cumulative experience managing software, web and video game products to market, I offer students real-world perspectives and exercises to prepare them for real-world design, production, quality assurance, leadership and marketing careers.
