I have found that every student has the potential to learn and improve upon their situation if given the right opportunities, surroundings, and support. I love the "lighbulb" look on a child's face which comes not only from "getting it" after a struggle, but also from the boost that moment brings to their self-confidence. Suddenly, with one success, other successes seem possible again. I feel it is a privelege to be a part of these kinds of moments in my students' lives and it is especially rewarding to know I had a part in making them happen. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a love for children and for learning. I believe in being patient and encouraging children to learn. I have learned in my dealings with children that they respond better when they feel that I have a genuine interest in them. I have worked with children with Autism. They are a special challenge, but have helped me to develop more patience and understanding. As a mother I have an appreciation of gentle firmness and consistency and have a desire to help children succeed. I believe in helping children find methods of problem solving that work for them.
I recently earned my bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I was in advanced math classes and have studied up through Calculus, testing out of an Algebra II class. A Little Bit About Me...

During the completion of my BMA, I accepted a tutoring position and tutored all students (including disabled students) for two years. I eventually moved on to substituting for professors and even gained an assistant to the professor position, which included developing and teaching lesson plans. I have excellent communication skills with students and the ability to determine effective ways to help each student learn in their unique way. Although I have done mainly music tutoring, I am extremely confident in mathematics, sciences, and english.
I have the ability to work with diverse students of all ages and levels. Whether the student is 15 or 50, I can help the him/her learn and feel comfortable around me.
