A Little Bit About Me...

I have a love for children and for learning. I believe in being patient and encouraging children to learn. I have learned in my dealings with children that they respond better when they feel that I have a genuine interest in them. I have worked with children with Autism. They are a special challenge, but have helped me to develop more patience and understanding. As a middle school teacher, I have found that one of the main reasons students struggle is that they have reading deficits. This prompted me to pursue a Master’s degree in Literacy. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in life long learning. I majored in botany and have a minor in both Spanish and chemistry. I hold a masters degree in Biology with an emphasis on plant health. I am currently writing my dissertation for my PhD program in Adult Education. I have over 20 years experience in plant health research and have taught several different subjects to all age groups. I am currently an Extension Educator.
