A in AP U.S. History in High School, B.A. in International Relations and Russian Post-Soviet Studies from The College of William and Mary (3.4 GPA). 6 years of Russian language study, including a 6-week study abroad program in St. Petersburg, Russia, and 1.5 years living and teaching ESOL in Novosibirsk, Russia. 10 years of competitive running experience, including being captain of High School and University cross country and track and field teams.
Relaxed. I do not discipline students. If students want to learn they will put in the effort - I will not be their babysitter. I try to make class interesting, involved, and active, and to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

I also homeschooled my children from pre-school up to grade five, as well as taught Sunday school at church for several years. A Little Bit About Me...

Following my graduation from the University of Connecticut I pursued a career in the insurance industry but have also spent time working as a youth group leader and worked as a part-time tutor for several years. While living in Connecticut I tutored homebound high school age children who were either out on medical leave or expelled for disciplinary purposes. I am proud to report that in addition to several other students, I provided tutoring for a full course load covering an entire year for one expelled student who improved grades in every course and went on to graduate. I have also created training programs and hired and trained numerous employees in the insurance industry and serve as co-chair for an annual insurance educational conference held in New York City.
