I have an MA from Marist College as well as a BA from NYU. I have designed and taught SAT prep classes (verbal/writing portion) as well as developing curriculum integrating diverse domains of knowledge to create a broad, deep and flexible learning experience for students.
I believe that competence and confidence are BOTH important in learning. Students bring their own knowledge and learning styles to the process. I like to put "boring" lessons into games to help children remember and understand what they need to learn or memorize for tests and quizzes.
Provide learning opportunities for students in areas of enhanced educational skills as identified, provide children the opportunity for improvement and advancement. I received my BA from one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. In addition to my psychology degree, I also studied Spanish extensively. Based on the liberal arts education that I received, I am fully capable of teaching a number of subjects including Spanish, History, and English. Currently, I teach Spanish and US History at a private boarding middle school in Connecticut but am moving to San Francisco for the summer.
