I love working with children of all ages and abilities and helping them with academics. I don't believe I have a specific teaching style. I know that I have to be flexible and creative with each student. Everyone learns differently, and I feel it is my obligation to find what works for each child. As a special education teacher, I have experience in a variety of settings such as alternative education, partial hospitalization programs, and autistic support programs. As a Penn State graduate, I was motivated to achieve a high level of excellence in my teaching career. I maintained my standing on the Dean's List all eight semesters of my college career and received numerous scholarships and awards. I was chosen as one of the 56 Penn State Elementary Education majors to participate in the Professional Development School (PDS), a year long, full-time student teaching internship in collaboration with the State College Area School District. Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle. I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well. I have a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from MIZZOU. I am very proficient in technical editing, critiquing papers and writing technical papers.
