It is my belief that all children can learn, even those with disabilities, if the proper techniques are applied and if the students are inspired by their teachers. I find it useful to set reasonable goals and expect students to achieve them. However, flexibility is always called for when dealing with children as their egos can be fragile and we, as teachers, are entrusted to protect those egos. Too many schools criticize a child's ability to learn when the child doesn't respond to the school's one method of teaching. I enjoy finding ways to make concepts simple and fun for the child.
