My comments on tutoring Dyslexia : I have been a special education teacher for most of my teaching career specializing in dyslexia. I am a trained, certified dyslexia specialist and have been working with students with dyslexia for 8 years. I feel that the program that I use is very beneficial because it is a multisensory approach to teaching students to read. I also teach study skills so that my students become successful in school.

I have been in Education for 19 years, but have been a teacher much longer than that! I have been involved in teaching somehow since I was a young girl, working as a Sunday School teacher or as a teacher for Vacation Bible School, as a camp counselor for the YMCA Daycare program and as a tutor while in college. I have been a certified teacher for 19 years, spending most of those years in Special Education. I started my career as a substitute teacher in Northeast Ohio, moved to Texas to teach Special Education as a resource teacher, moved to teaching third grade and then back to Special Education as an Intervention Specialist working with small groups of students in all grade levels.
