Teaching is my passion. I have taught for more than 23 years and I know that teaching is a 2 way process (teacher-learner). I would to teach math because I have been applying math my entire life. I have a four year degree in mechanical engineering technology. I have used math extensively in my everyday job. The last sixteen years I have used math to figure out complex equations. My problem solving skills are good. I teach my kids math and reading. I love teaching my two young children. I believe I can teach other children. I am a hard worker with a never give up attitude. I believe I can get the desired results for all kids. During my years at The Ohio State University, I earned a B.A. in Psychology, and completed a year and a half of Masters work in Social Work. After completing my B.A., I was hired as a professional tutor. I tutored college students in various subjects including English and essay writing, Psychology, Reading, some Spanish, and Social Studies. I love working with children, and feel that I can relate to them because I struggled in my early school years. I feel it's important to identify each child's learning style, and use that knowledge to help them discover the potential that they each hold. I feel it's extremely important to help them build their confidence, because anxiety only distracts them from the learning process. Finally, I try to make learning fun, by identifying each child's main intersts.

I have always loved working with students and have been volunteering with them at my church since I graduated from high school in 2006. During my senior year at Ohio State, I began working with an after-school program comprised of bilingual children that live in Columbus, where I started helping kids with their homework (in Spanish and English). After I graduated with my degree in Spanish and Communication, I began tutoring one of my friends for one of her college Spanish courses and got a job giving homework help and running an after-school program for a bilingual school in Ohio.
