MCAT is one of my top subjects!

I am a 2012 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemistry and concentration in Biochemistry. I have worked as a TA for the sophomore Principles of Biology (II) course as well as the Organic Chemistry Laboratory Course. I have been a tutor & academic mentor for Organic Chemistry since the summer of 2010. Additionally, I was an MCAT tutor & problem solving group leader for my University's MCAT course during the 2011-2012 year. I scored a 37R on the MCAT (PS - 14, BS - 12, V - 11) and a 2260 on the SAT ( Math 770, Verbal 730, Writing 760). I initially started tutoring because of my love for the subjects, and as I worked I understood that one has to be able to cater to different approaches to understanding various topics.

A Little Bit About Me...

Inquiry- I want the kids to learn through inquiry. Figuring out a problem through experimentation and critical thought of outcomes. I like to start with the basics and go from there. For older students, college and adults, I teach them study skills and notetaking and then go over the subject matter that they learned in class,
I have tutored my own children and have taught them to think cr itically and I tutored for 2 years as a Grad Assitant. I have worked in the Biological Science field for many years and I really enjoy teaching kids about science and it's impact on society
