My comments on tutoring Calculus II : Math is one of my strongest and favorite subjects

My tutoring experience has begun in college, when I would assist with Japanese and math lessons between classes and the campus job. Over 12 years since then, regardless of where my professional life takes me, I have had the privilege of working with various clients in terms of age, background, and objectives. Thus far, the youngest was a second grader with mathematics, while the eldest was a professional with genuine interest in Japanese. As a native of Japan who has lived abroad for the majority of the life, it is my pleasure to meet and share the knowledge.

A Little Bit About Me...

In May I will graduate with a BA in Chemistry and will be 3 credit hrs away from a BA in Mathematics at the University of Tulsa. I have also completed a minor in English and am 3 credit hours away from a minor in Physics. I have twice presented research at the American Chemical Society national conference in San Diego and New Orleans. During my time at TU, I assisted teaching in General Chem I and II labs as well as in Organic Chem I and II labs. I have tutored college students in chemistry, math, writing and lower level physics. I want my students to enjoy learning so that they will be motivated. I have found that one of the best ways to make learning enjoyable is to make it accessible to the student. A student who understands the course work will enjoy the learning process and be motivated to work harder than a student who does not. I try to understand what is obscuring my students perception of the subject and then I try to remove that obstruction.
