A Little Bit About Me...

I recently have spent the last six months in the Head Start Program as a center teacher. We prepare them for kindergarten. I have taught all grade levels. I currently have a BA with a concentration in K-8 education. Due to online classes, I have written hundreds of research and essay papers using APA style although I have helped my son use MLA which I can write in effectively.
Teaching mainly K-8 on a consistent schedule, I have learned that some students need one-on-one teaching. Being the third teacher in Head Start, I had time to work with individual students. I enjoy teaching others and helping them excel in their studies. I can relate to younger students because I have a six year old who required extensive help in the area of reading. She was one of my greatest achievements because I had to research a way to communicate on her level of understanding and yet make it interesting and fun. Now instead reading being a weakness it is a strength for her because she has excelled and developed confidence in this area too.
