I had excelled in calculus during my freshman year of college, and I was recommended by my teachers to become a supplemental instruction (SI) tutor. I tutored students in calculus for the remaining 3 years of my undergraduate studies with SI. I was supported through a teaching assistantship (TA) during my graduate studies where I taught introductory geology lab. TAs were given a general guideline of what to teach, but not necessarily materials to use. I developed course and testing materials that I and other incoming TAs used as well. I also tutored student-athletes in calculus and geology throughout my graduate career.
