Learning never ceases; so, why should you?

My teaching style is a mixture of strict and lenient. I try to form a connection with students and apply that to my teaching method (i.e. incorporating a similar hobby in a question in order for the student to understand the material better). I expect my students to give me and the other students respect- never speaking while others are speaking, no disruptions, ect. This method of teaching has shown effective and a fun learning environment. I base my curriculum around the importance of reading. Reading is the easiest and most effective way of obtaining knowledge and using it in the world.
I have had the honor of working with many kids in regards to a variety of fields. My experiences taught me responsibility, patience, the importance of learning and education, and much more. The various teaching opportunities I have been fortunate to have have impacted my social and educational li ... read more

I have changed my major a few times from Music therapy, to music, to music education, then finally I just decided that I just wanted to do education. I started studying Early Childhood Education, because I love children, I love teaching them, and I have plenty of patients for them. I have been tutoring at the middle school for 2 years now. I am seeking for jobs outside of the county, because I would like to spread my experience in many other places as well.
I get to know the children first then get them involved in the assingment with eagerness and excitement. Then the children are to go and show off their knowledge. That way they will know it much better than before. The knowlege is input into the student's brain, and then I have them output the knowledge; therefore it is being repeated, and instilled more and more into their brain everytime. I love to see children eager to learn, ... read more

I was in the Teacher Apprenticeship program from 2003-2004 at my high school, where I taught and tutored two classes of 8th grade students for my mentor teacher. In college, I proofread many papers for friends and did extensive legal research and writing, which continuously improved my writing ability. I vastly enjoy writing papers and performing research for academic purposes, especially on issues relating to international political affairs.
My teaching style is hands-on. I believe that while students gain knowledge through auditory and visual methods of learning, it is vital that they are given practical tasks that put their skills to use. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is simple, whatever it takes! Working in the school system has given me the opportunity to work with all types of learners. Some students do well with a quick learning session, others work at a slower pace. I believe that teachers should work in conjunction with parents to tap into the nature of their childs learning habits and then utilize this information to make a comprehensive plan of action.
Over the past ten years I have gained experience in education. As a high school student I volunteered to work at a couple schools. Shortly thereafter I began working as an after school tutor. I've worked in summer camps and currently work as a substitute teacher.

For the past 2 years i have helped children from K-5th grade with all types of homework from English to Social Studies to Math. I love helping kids understand thoroughly what they are learning in school. I also like to make it fun.
Not all children are the same. It takes time to learn a child's individual learning curve. I am able to channel this into a positive and FUN learning experience. I believe that all kids can accomplish what they put their mind too but they just need someone who will set them on a straight path. Sometimes kids need one on one teaching to get the lesson through their heads.

After teaching for 25 years, the first and most important element of interaction between a student and a teacher is one of mutual respect. The student wants the teacher to listen to their needs and concerns, and the teacher wants to be respected for his/her wealth of knowledge through experience. This is built through patience and understanding. A personal relationship is also helpful in tutoring, more on the level of a parent or adult friend.
As a member of the Golden Key Honor Society in Education at Queens College in Flushing, NY I excelled at all the subjects I took pertaining to Elementary Education. I have a full awareness of the importance for structure and flow within an essay. Voice is sometimes overlooked, but is equally essential in representing the author's conviction to the subject matter of their work.

I am an experienced tutor in math and various sciences (mainly chemistry), with over three years of tutoring experience. Currently I tutor privately and at a tutoring center. I have a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and am very skilled with Science and Math. Having graduated top of my class, tutoring others comes natural to me. "Most of my students have seen progress after only one session." It gives me great pleasure to see students do better in their subjects they are struggling with. Everyone can learn the material, it's just a matter of finding the way it makes sense to you. Everyone's brain works differently.

More About This Tutor...

I have experience teaching at a university as a Teacher's Assistant in chemistry. The classes would meet before a test and discuss the analytical techniques of the course. I am currently teaching an Anatomy and Physiology course for nurses looking to pass the RN liscensing exam. My approach to teaching is centered around the particular goals of the student or students. Clearly, a course centered around a liscensing test will focus on the material that will be on that test. Otherwise, teaching has to be catered to the student's ability to learn the material and focus on the weakness in understanding the concepts involved in the material.
I am currently teaching anatomy and physiology courses to students training to become licensed Registered Nurses. The courses focus on basic science principles and the relationship of these concepts to human function and structure, clinically.
