As a graduate of the Department of Engineering at Vanderbilt University, I feel I am very qualified in tutoring Calculus 1 and 2. Not only have I taken the classes both in high school and during my time at Vanderbilt, the engineering curriculum reinforced these theories by integrating Calculus into nearly every core class that I took. I am currently a mid-career scientist who is looking to transition into the teaching profession. I have tutored high school and college students for several years in chemistry, algebra, physics, and geometry. I have a BS in Chemistry and have taken additional coursework in chemistry and education. I have extensive experience as a chemist working in the laboratory, and have several published research articles in the field.
My goal in teaching is to help students understand how the scientific process affects them on a personal level.
