Normally, I am able to advance a child a grade level in reading with three months of tutoring and reinforcing homework, during the summer. I can best describe my teaching style as flexible. I start with traditional paper-pencil methods. If further clarification is needed I use surrounding objects or tools such as Smart board, manipulatives, different colored pencils, paper-folding or anything else necessary to try. I couple the above with questioning tactics to uncover where the missing link is for the student.
