Just knowing which equation to use for a certain type of problem will not help a student succeed in future courses. Students should also know that repetition is the best way to master a skill.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have studied chemistry and biology throughout my undergraduate career. Classes I have taken and received high grades in include beginning chemistry classes, organic chemistry, beginning biology classes, and cell biology. I just recently graduated from Ball State and am returning in the Fall to begin work on my masters in chemistry. My interest lies in analytical chemistry, which teaches you the various techniques and apparatuses that every chemist should know how to use, as well as real world skills to help a chemist know how to approach a certain problem or situation without the help of a lab manual. I graduated Cum Laude from Ball State with a double major in Visual Communication and Genetics. Both my parents were teachers and I often tutored my friends. I taught Swimming to children every summer for from 2001-2005, so I have experience with young children having a hard time paying attention. I have strong skills in science and math.

My teaching style is one of friendly leadership. Working through problems or lessons with the student by leading them through it, then working it with them side by side while explaining the details helps them achieve the accomplishment of learning without making them feel as if they were just instructed how to do it.
