Have tutored peers and younger students starting in high school and continuing throughout my undergraduate. Fundamental understanding is what is most important. Just knowing which equation to use for a certain type of problem will not help a student succeed in future courses. Students should also know that repetition is the best way to master a skill.

My comments on tutoring Algebra I : I scored a 100% on the NY Algebra Regents. I homeschooled my two daughters and they both passed the Algebra ECAalmost at the Pass Plus range. I am currently homeschholing my son in Algebra 1. I love math and love solving for the unknown quantity. I was certified in Elementary Education (K-8th grade) and Special Education (K-12th grade) and taught for 10 years for both regular and special ed. students up to 8th grade.

I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I graduated Cum Laude from Ball State with a double major in Visual Communication and Genetics. Both my parents were teachers and I often tutored my friends. I taught Swimming to children every summer for from 2001-2005, so I have experience with young children having a hard time paying attention. I have strong skills in science and math.
