I am not young enough to know everything

I agree with the concept that each person learns a bit differently, and even more so that as a tutor, I should try and find the most effective style for my tutee. My academic career also taught me the importance of setting time limits for each action item; and switching tasks to keep the mind sharp.
You will see from my resume below that I have strong experience in math, science, engineering and computers. It is worth mentioning that I am also skilled in english (5 on my AP World Lit exam) and art (voted most artistic in my senior high school class). A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Buisness Admin. I dont't really have any experience in tutoring.I have only helped family members in their buisness courses in high school. If given the opportunity my experience will increase and I could grow into a successful tutor
I have no teaching experience therefore I have no teaching style. If I were a teacher I would teach the kids the information, have a question session and then review the information in a game type format. The kids will learn if you make the information interesting and fun. That way you will get thier attention.

As a young adult, freshly graduated from high school at the age of nineteen, I chose to enlist in the military to, among other things, have the opportunity to travel and experience other diverse cultures throughout the world. These profound experiences have shaped the person I am today and have been instrumental in fostering my curiosity and resolution to better understand people from other cultures. In conjunction with practical and technical experience in the financial industry, teaching allows me the opportunity to bring “real-world” problems into a classroom setting.
My motivation for applying to Advanced Learners is two-fold: primarily, teaching is something that I am passionate about and is our “family business” so to speak, my parents have a combined fifty plus years in education, it is through this noble cause that they have chosen to give back to the community. Secondly, ... read more

As an active member of my community, in the form of pageantry, volunteering, and leadership, I have always enjoyed instructing others. Currently, I love my job at Midwest Generation as an Instructional Designer of Training. I get to train Engineers and Office Managers on subjects I knew little about, and have grown in responsibility and development. I love kids, since my summer camp instruction job I held all throughout High School as well as an active instructor at my church. I just graduated from Illinois State University about a year ago, and am recently educated and knowledgeable in all subjects, especially English, Social Studies, and Math. I also have five years of French studies.

A Little Bit About Me...

I would consider my teaching style as hands on. I love to work with children and know that I am giving the confidence to learn. I believe that every child has the ability to learn if they are given a safe learning space to explore their potential. I believe that being an educator is the greatest gift that I could give to anyone in need.
As a college graduate, I have earned a bachelor's degree in Economics, with a minor in Statistics. I have 2 years in a professional financial position. Along side of my finance career I assisted a friend of mine in the academia field. I assisted in creating lesson plans, grading papers, writing tests, and team building activities. More About This Tutor...

Mathematically, I teach from a logical, or procedural approach. As students work their way up to Calculus and further, it is important to understand the process of problem-solving and not focus on the numbers alone. Many sciences can become abstract, I like to relate topics to things students may encounter everyday or already understand in order to get a foundation before complicating topics with smaller detail. I am very positive and try to push students as fast as they absorb the information. I feel it is hard to enjoy a subject if you do not understand it or see how it effects you. For this reason, I try to bring real-world uses for topics and bring these subject to life.
I graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. I received dual Bachelors' of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering. These have a advanced my understanding of physics, mathematics, and ... read more
