I received my bachelor's degree in chemistry (ACS Certified) from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2009 and my master's degree in organic chemistry from Vanderbilt University in 2012. Throughout my undergraduate education, I acted as an official tutor for the chemistry department and as a teaching assistant for the general chemistry and chemistry for non-majors teaching labs. As a teaching assistant, I was responsible for presenting pre-lab lectures, demonstrating experimental setups, and grading quizzes and lab reports. In May of 2010, I successfully completed my fourth year of teaching. Each year has been different. The children of today learn in many different ways. There has been a change in learning styles over the course of time. Some children may learn through hands on activities and modeling, while others learn through lecture. I am currently a stay-at-home mom looking to re-enter the work force. I have earned both a MS and BS degree in Chemistry which has enabled me to have an understanding in several areas of math and science. In the past, I have taught physical science on the collegiate level, worked in a research laboratory, and substitute taught elementary school.
