Individualized Assistance

Today’s fast paced school curriculum overwhelms an alarming number of students, essentially hindering their progress as a whole by failing to make sure one concept is properly learned before the next is taught. But I make sure that they are comfortable with each and every problem before encouraging them to move on to the next. This way they retain essential information that will adequately prepare them for review and lessons to come. They will be grateful to see an improvement in their grades and you will be grateful to witness their positive outlook towards reading, mathematics, writing and study skills.
I have helped a number of adults & children improve in math, reading, writing and study skills. Generally a client should meet for three hours a week for best results. Tutoring in most subject areas at all grade levels from elementary through college is available. I can work ... read more

College Algebra is one of my top subjects! Have assisted 5+ students in this and earned A's, as well as passing it myself with an A

For math problems, I usually work problems and explain each step, and then have the student attempt to work a similiar one when they feel like they understand the problems. I try to be as helpful as possible while still focusing on the goal of total understanding for the student, as well as the ability to work a similiar problem independently with confidence. For paper writing, I would have the student brainstorm some ideas, and then together we could discuss the pro's and con's of the topic and organization choice, and provide tips on how we could better the assignment. I am willing to give as much or as little help as a parent would prefer, as good grades are one goal but the students mastery of the material is the most important.
I have not tutored publicly before, but have tutored friends children/ family members for standardized tests such as the high school history and englis ... read more

I will do what is necessary to meet your needs.

I took 5 math classes in high school with 2 at the honors level. In undergrad I was 1 or 2 classes short of having a minor in math. I also helped friends who struggled in their respective math classes. I went on to use this education to help me earn my master's degree in business. I still use math in some form on a daily basis.

Not taking advantage of my opportunities, I have always done my best to provide my children and any other children that I could reach with a better view of what life has to offer. We need to let the parents know about the opportunities and educational programs out there, to help better their knowledge, so that they can help their children at home. I have also expeienced the fact that most of our parents didn't finish high school, therefore can't participate with homework or school projects.
I've been an Assistant Teacher on three different occasions at three different schools. I've always wanted to be in the education field but unable to finish my education. I am a mother of 6 children, ages 22,22,13,11,08, and 03. I love children, very concerned about our future and the education of our children today. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with all people young and old. When teaching someone, for me the most important thing is to get them to grasp the actual technique and reason for why something is important and how it is used, not just a strict memorization. It takes two to make learning possible, a good teacher and a good student.
