As a graduate student I had the pleasure to both teach and tutor. I was a Teacher's Assistant for the Politics of the Policy Process for two semesters. As a TA, I led 20 students in section meetings, focusing on writing and communication strategies. Additionally, I tutored student athletes at Duke University for one year. I tutored students in numerous subject areas, including statistics, public policy, economics, basic writing, and political science. Finally, I have recently begun volunteer tutoring for 6th-8th graders in Durham.

I began 'teaching' as the head wakeboarding instructor at Coble Ski School in Lillington, NC, when I was a junior in high school. Shortly thereafter I took a position working at a beach resort in Pensacola, FL, where I spent an entire summer instructing surfing, kayaking and sailing. At Duke I tutored during each of my four years, either biweekly at a local Durham elementary school or at the Emily K Family Life Center.
