From age seven, I have had a passion for teaching and public speaking. I am involved with a continuing education program that hones speaking and teaching ability. In high school, I helped to pilot and served as captain of the Speech and Debate team (National Forensics League). I also worked as a Teacher Cadet. I took four years to volunteer at an educational center after high school where I completed an advanced course in public speaking. I was a full-time volunteer minister for 15 years total, and I dedicated much time to working with troubled and at-risk youths. For a year, I volunteered with Lapsits for Literacy. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always wanted to teach but enjoyed the research that was available working for a large chemical company. I had the opportunity to teach Organic while I was working and enjoyed it but the time constraints were tough. I am now retired from industry and will be teaching in the Chemistry Department at the University of West Florida. I am very enthusiastic about chemistry and that comes through in my teaching and tutoring. I have made a very good living doing something I love to do and that is reflected in my teaching style.

I love teaching and history. I believe that anybody can learn anything. I think if someone has not learned something it is because someone has not taught it to them at all or they have not been taught in the right way. At the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga I received an excellent education where I got my BA in History with a minor in Sociology. After moving to Pensacola, I have tauht two years in the Florida K-12 sytem, presenting in Tallahassee in an area social studies conference, and three years in the community and junior college system.
