I have received extensive formal training in all of the sciences, especially biology and microbiology. I also spent many years conducting research and teaching for various colleges and universities. I have taught a wide variety of students, including nursing students, science majors, and non-science majors. Having obtained my own education as a nontraditional student, I relate very well to their situation and I derive a great deal of satisfaction from working with them. I have taught courses in virtually every branch of biology, and I maintain a strong interest in all areas of this field.
My teaching strategy generally involves creating a foundation of basic principles and then building until a thorough understanding of the subject has been attained.
