My comments on tutoring Composition : I have taught composition skills just about every year since I have graduated from college.

I have a student-centered teaching style. That means I see at what level the student is and meet him/her at that level. Then we together move up to where he/she needs to be.
I have taught for many years in all levels of secondary school, alternative schools, and tutoring centers.I eat, sleep, and drink tutoring as I tutor every day during the school year and do lots of research to help my kids in whatever academic subject is causing them difficulty. A Little Bit About Me...

As a junior and senior in college, my research papers consistently received the highest grades ever awarded by a certain professor with a reputation for being the toughest on campus. I subsequently became a successful trade journalist and marketing communications writer with in excess of 150 feature articles to my name. In addition, the last eight years, during which I've been a homeschooling mom, have allowed me to hone my teaching style and become more aware of the barriers students typically have and effective methods of overcoming writing difficulties.
I enjoy helping students find the writer within them! What tools I use in the classroom really depends on the student's learning style and course material. Some individuals learn by performing tasks, while others learn by reading or hearing the material to be learned. I use a variety of methods depending on the course such as: PowerPoint, Internet, Lectures, Whiteboard, Student Presentations, and individuals within the community to discuss their current views on health care and their roles in Medical Billing/Coding.
