My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : As a promoter of reading (whether it be fiction or non-fiction), I enjoy being in the position to help students with reading. In my experience of helping students with reading, it has been invariably fulfilling during those moments when a student improves their pronunciation or learns a new words! I can base a lesson plan on the student's peculiar needs. For instance, if I see that the student struggles with five-letter words, I can create a list of five words and develop a technique to help them improve their reading. My approach is one that is peculiar to each of my students. As an auto-didactic learner, I believe that everyone has their own way of learning. Elementary Reading is one of my top subjects! I have been a teacher for 27 years and have a masters degree in reading. I am a reading specialist and currently provide remediation for grades 2-4 at an elementary campus.
