I have tutored students in middle school and below on general subjects also (i.e science, social studies, english, etc).
I am a huge advocate of learning 'why' something happens vs 'how' it happens. In mathematics, anyone can learn a formula, an expression, or an equation if they look at it enough times, but they would not know how to apply it in real life situations. However, if a students learns the application of the formula and how it works, bigger chances they will remember it or can derive it when recalling the information. Learning the 'why' WILL lead to learning the 'how'

More About This Tutor...

I tutored college math for two years while I was attending community college. I normally helped athletes prepare for a test, help with online homework, and assess their knowledge by providing other problems for them to work out and check behind them. I also tutored man in the math section of the ASVAB back in the summer of 2012.
I like to have one on one tutoring sessions free from any distractions in order for the student to pay more attention. I try to find videos and tutorials that may better help demonstrate how to work problems on top of how I teach it myself.

Algebra II is one of my top subjects!

Hello! My name is Rohan. I am a recent graduate in aerospace engineering. I have been tutoring for over 1 and half years now and currently tutor in Elementary Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Pre-calculus. I seemed to adapt those parts where students seem to struggle the most and learned how to cope with communicating easily to them. I always try to provide the most efficient way to help you understand and will not give up until you understood the concept.
I believe every student has their method of approaching a problem. From my past sessions with others, I became familiar with connecting with the students' needs and trying methods that they feel most comfortable with. Because I am so familiar with what parts of a subject usually give students the most trouble, I provide tips and reminders throughout my sessions which will help them fill in the gaps here and there. I like to take ... read more

During college, I swam varsity, an experience that taught me the patience and time management required to balance a rigorous academic schedule with the physical strain of a full-time sport. Later, I found that my personality and ability to work well with others was more helpful out of the water. During my 4th year, I coached the club swim team, and then moved up to assistant coaching the varsity team during my 5th year. I was able to understand the difficulties students were having and helped them with their work as well as helping them manage their schedules. There is no reason success cannot be achieved if given the proper motivation and the right guidance. Helping students be able to help themselves has been my greatest satisfaction.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Columbus State University, I have been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have earned a teacher's certification in Special Education. The certification, along with the experience gained, has enabled me to gain an understanding of the disabled and at-risk student. Over the past eleven years I have learned and employed various teaching strategies that have aided in the success of my students. I would appreciate the opportunity to help your student become successful as well.
My passion is to teach and work with children. Although I believe that all students are capable of learning, I am certain that students learn in different ways. As a good educator, I am charged with the challenge of presenting the lesson so that it suits the students individual learning style. I accomplish this by providing a constructive approach to learning.
