A Little Bit About Me...

I have four years of experience as a tutor that I obtained throughout my college experience. Tutoring is a personal joy of mine as I witness students who I've worked with succeed in their academics. It has been the most fulfilling job I've had, and I look forward to new experiences with students who desire to learn.
I do not consider myself a teacher but a helper. In my experience, the Socratic method in which I pose probing questions that unlock the student's knowledge is the strongest approach. A student's retention of the material is strongest when the student can teach it, and that's what I aim for. All things good to know are difficult to learn!

I have always been a math person, even as a little kid. I am currently attending Francis Marion University and double majoring in Mathematics and Finance. In the spring of 2014 I will be taking Calculus III and Multivariable Calculus. I tutor my friends and they love the way I teach compared to their professors or instructors. If I do not initially know how to solve a problem, it will take me a few minutes to learn it, provided that there are notes available. I have also been into music for the past 9 years. I know how to play the piano and any percussion instrument.
