A Little Bit About Me...

I began college as an engineering major, so I have background in advanced mathematics and physics. I went on to change my major to psychology where I gained knowlege of social and behavioral sciences, as well as research technologies and statistical analysis. Since graduating college with a B.A. in psychology, I have worked as a psychology researcher, accounting assistant, and in 3 different roles for an international pharmaceutical company. Through my job experience, I have gained knowledge in different business disciplines and areas such as Lean/Six Sigma and Supply Chain/Logistics planning.
I love teaching all ages and skill levels. I adjust my teaching style to the individual - some people are visual learners or oral learners or hands-on learners. I teach by example and try to encourage my students to understand "why" rather than just "how."

I have a real passion for working with youth and their families and believe that it is a calling that can change lives. I enjoy working in collaboration with students. As a teacher, I see the student/teacher relationship as a partnership bound by communication and compassion. A teacher must listen to his/her students and try to understand the world from the student's point of view. From this foundation, a teacher is then able to present or teach material in the way a student is apt to understand it.
