The type of instructor I am working to become and remain does not view teaching as a job but, views teaching as an ongoing mission. In college I worked for UGA in the Division of Academic Enhancement tutoring Statistics and Algebra. My teaching style, is to find the way the child learns best. Math can be taught thru several different methods or strategies. I really enjoy children and have found that it is just a minor thing or so that causes them to not like math, but when they see that there is more than one way to solve problems they change their minds. I reallly do feel that one on one teaching does help students to grasp the information, then they are more apt to show off their new found skills.
I currently am employed by the Chatham County School System as a long term substitute and as a Math Resource teacher.
