Nothing excites me more than seeing someone understand something about how the human body works, because I think the human body is fascinating. All the functions that our body must perform at all times for us to live is amazing. My style as a tutor is to try and talk the student through whichever process is in question, and then try to explain the material in a new way. I try to simplify what is being learned, and then the student can build on what he/she understands. My goal is for the student to understand the material, not just get through the process. I like to use visual learning methods as well as memorization and recognition methods. Seeing a diagram is sometimes not enough. Actually trying to simulate a diagram/problem on your own after seeing it once promotes better understanding. As pertaining to math, depending on the level of the learner, I would do some problems together first and then let them work through it and find out where they run into problems. I always write out the problems along with the learner. I believe that everyone has the potential to learn all subjects as long as they have the motivation and determination to learn.
