A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy earnest and humble students, learning with and from them. I feel uncomfortable not learning laterally as well as vertically, seeing that to be knowledgeable, one must not just memorize but ruminate on what was memorized, making as many lateral connections as expedient. I like to simply direct and expand a student's learning as opposed to an artifactual accomplishment; however, my premiere obligation is punctual achievement of task.
I am qualified to tutor writing, basic computer, reading, basic math, learning, biology, organic chemistry, genetics, geography, and various exams, all from college-level experiences. I had a scientific book in Barnes and Noble, ample graduate-level coursework in Education, experience as a High School teacher, and lived abroad. I have a B.S. in plant biotech from Cornell.

I love working with children and I believe all children have the capacity to learn. Teachers need to recognize and learn the correct methods to instruct individual students using their strengths to overcome their weaknesses. I have always been interested in the educational field. I have extensive knowledge in the areas of psychology, writing, and the sciences (particularly biology, anatomy and phsyiology). I have taught several introductory psychology classes at a local community college. In addition, as a graduate student at Alfred University I monitored a study hall of football players and provided the students with tutoring in pscyhology and writing/composition.
