I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University. I have worked with children in a professional setting since 2004 in church, non profit, daycare, early childhood, and preschool settings. I value education and find it to be a crucial and vital part of child development. I have tutored autistic students, as well as taught preschool for 14 months both at Saint Dunstans Preschool and Holland Hall College Preparatory School. I practice "learning by doing" where they create their own style and way of accomplishing the task based on age appropriate methods and ways that work for them. I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. Just memorizing facts, although in some cases that is necessary, it is just not fun for all students and just may not stick unless learned in a fun way. I want to make learning fun because no one should ever stop learning. There is just too much out there to sit back and let life pass you by.
