My comments on tutoring Drawing : I majored in fine arts in college with a concentration in drawing and painting. I can give your child skills or help develop them a bit further if your child already has skills. I am interested in students with a sincere interest in drawing and painting and who are willing to spend three to four hours a week doing assignments.

I have home schooled four children ( two of whom were foreign speaking adopted from Russian) through 12th grade. All four are now in college. Have a graduate degree in library science, the conservation of research materials and fine arts. Can tutor in elementary math through Algebra I, reading and phonics, drawing and painting and grammar and writing.
Tailored to your child's learning style. I have had visual, auditory and hands-on learners in my family. Also taught classes in home school cooperative.

Drawing is one of my top subjects! MFA in painting and drawing

I am a hands on teacher. I love experimentation , enthusiasm,, and encourage students to share their thoughts and ideas
I currently teach children and adults a variety of classes including painting, drawing, mosaic making, printmaking, fiber arts and collage. I believe that everyone is an artist and that everyone needs creativity of some sort in their life to create balance. By making art, I believe that other areas of academics improve by exercising the right brain as well as the left brain. All too often creative fields are tossed to the side , and schools focus on state testing...I firmly believe that art and creative fields in general are " sit-ups" for the brain and create a better balanced healthy human being...of any age or ability. I prefer to teach cross curriculum including art appreciation, historical information of certain topics, using math as a tool for art and teach ... read more

Drawing is one of my top subjects!

My Artistic Journey I am a self-taught artist, born and raised in India, with a lifelong passion for art. My artistic journey began at a young age, and I quickly found recognition for my talents. At the age of 10, I was honored with a State Gold medal in drawing and painting, which served as the initial spark for my artistic endeavors. Eager to enhance my skills, I embarked on formal art lessons to further develop my craft. By the time I turned 14, my dedication paid off as I received a National Gold medal in drawing and painting, marking a significant milestone in my artistic career. These achievements were not only personal triumphs but were also acknowledged by the local community, with my name being featured in the pages of the local newspaper. At the age of 15, I successfully cleared my Higher grade Drawing Examination with Distinction, demonstrating my commitment to both a ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work. My style is marked with a belief in the student and I encourage them and acknowledge their progress.
I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a gue ... read more

I have a BFA in Graphic Design and a MS in applied technology education. I am also currently pursuing my administration certification. I have been an adjunct professor at a local 2 year college, and I have been teaching 7-12 grade since 2006. I am confident in my skills as a teacher and a leader and think that my real world business experience background gives me an edge with the students because I can apply that to their school curriculum.
I am a very hands on, activity based teacher. I follow the rule of Explain, Example, Exercise. I make sure to have many different types of learning so that each student can be successful. Over the years, I have had the ability to work in various grade levels in various school districts. During my student teaching I had the chance to teach first and fourth grade. After graduating, I subbed in many school districts throughout the Capital Region. I worked as a teacher's assistant in a self-contained classroom serving children between first and third grade. I had the opportunity to work one on one with them and contribute to helping them successfully reach some of their IEP goals. I currently work as a Pre-k teacher in a local elementary school and work to meet their indiviual needs every day.
Teaching is my passion! I believe that every child has a person learning style and that once a teacher can tap into the child's interests and find a way to engage them in their own learning, this will lead the child on a road to success!

A Little Bit About Me...

I never set out to work with children but after I was hired to be a teacher assistant for young children with autism I can’t imagine doing anything else. I am a very patient person and I strive to bring a light hearted, fun approach to working with students. I believe that learning should be educational but at the same time fun and engaging. The biggest rewards for me personally have been the smallest breakthroughs when working with children especially those with special needs.
I have spent the last two years working with elementary age children with autism. I have also spent a couple months during the spring working with culturally diverse children, some with special needs, in an after school program in Sydney Australia. I have experience working 1:1 with children with autism in a self-contained classroom. I have be trained and have a great deal of experience with TCI . T ... read more

My educational and professional experience are both concentrated on writing. More narrowly, analytical writing and legislative reporting. My experience tutoring on writing goes back to when I was part of a volunteer peer program, tutoring English as a second language students to assist them with mastering the English regents. At the collegiate level, I was a school tutor for 100-200 level liberal arts class, helping numerous students write strong papers and beat Intro to Logic. I also was a teachers assistant for Politics and Film, a political theory cross-listed grad/undergrad class. In sum, I have experience working across a wide age range and am able to accommodate a variety of learning styles, from junior high to adult levels.
My teaching style is professional, friendly, and peer to peer. I like to break things down for students and I encourage them to ask a lot of questions. I ... read more

Through my teaching experience I have found it necessary to differentiate my teaching styles in order to be an effective teacher. Most often than not I have found that being a facilitator rather than a dictator is most beneficial to learning. I have learned that if students construct their own learning experiences they will not only retain information longer, but they will also become more confident in their abilities.
I have been Involved in the teaching and tutoring of academic subjects for the past 6 years of my life. I have a true passion for instilling the same love for education that I possess in my students. I have worked in about 9 different educational, tutoring, or mentoring facilities both before and after I graduated with my biology teaching certificate.
