Drawing is one of my top subjects! MFA in painting and drawing

I currently teach children and adults a variety of classes including painting, drawing, mosaic making, printmaking, fiber arts and collage. I believe that everyone is an artist and that everyone needs creativity of some sort in their life to create balance. By making art, I believe that other areas of academics improve by exercising the right brain as well as the left brain. All too often creative fields are tossed to the side , and schools focus on state testing...I firmly believe that art and creative fields in general are " sit-ups" for the brain and create a better balanced healthy human being...of any age or ability. My goals are to improve there understanding in a subject, and remembering certain things for tests and quizzes to get a great grade. My goal is to also have your child have a better understanding and feel confident about the subject they were struggling in before.

As A recent graduate from a Liberal Arts School, I found it easy to connect with teaching as my calling. I have always driven for high levels of excellence in and outside the classroom and work force. Having an English and Philosphy background, I find it easy to critically think and annotate extensively works of literature. And from that I find that my skills are up to par due to writing research papers and annotating other people's work.
