I like to emphasize the personal nature of teacher-student interactions. I guide and direct students by asking questions, exploring options, suggesting alternatives, and encouraging them to develop criteria to make informed choices. My overall goal is to develop in students the capacity for independent action, initiative, and responsibility. I work with students on projects almost in a consultative fashion and I provide as much support and encouragement as possible. The personal flexibility, and the focus on students' needs and goals are of my utmost importance.
I have a Bachelors & a Masters of Science in Biology. Most of my experience is in academic research from both Canterbury University and The University of Oklahoma.
