I have taught and been certified in four states. Grades 7-9 is the level I prefer, though I have taught at the Junior College level also. History is my major, and having spent much of my youth on the European continent with my father's duty assignments, it is easy to teach the events that have led to the present situations. English and education were my minors, and they have become essential living in an area where more Spanish is spoken than our native tongue. Also the impact of "computer english"has destroyed in many the ability to communicate in a formal manner, with language and vocabulary necessary to achieve success outside the academic sphere.

A Little Bit About Me...

My style incorporates exercise kinesiology, developmentally appropriate materials and hands-on learning activities that are meaningful. I have been learning about Integrated Thematic Instruction, and I feel the incorporation of these views of valid lessons that are hands-on with learning objectives that match the needs of the developing child, match what I believe to be a whole child teaching approach.
As a student in Health Science, i.e. Medical Technology, I worked in a genetics laboratory for 14 years learning lab instrumentation, trouble-shooting, cytogenetics and professional etiquette. Lectures as well as public presentations of newly discovered genetic abnormalities was my passion. I truly enjoyed preparing and presenting these exciting talks.
