I love tutoring and mentoring kids, period. It's spiriturally rewarding to me as an adult to have a part in a child's development. I believe every child is special. There's is no doubt in my mind that if a tutor approach is based on patience, quality time and empathy, he or she will be successful and effective. The latter mentioned characteristics has always been viewed by me as the hallmarks of tutoring. I have worked for years with the brightest and those who just need the right approach to learning to become the brightest. Tutoring children is a job you have to love doing because it requires passion and understanding. I love working with children. I especially love teaching them about science and mathematics because I find these subjects so interesting. There are few things more rewarding then seeing it all "click." I like to use diagrams and real life situations to explain subjects. Breaking things down into laymen's terms and reducing intimidation by putting things simply helps most students to grasp difficult topics. I'm a pretty good artist and like drawing diagrams. I also have acquired numerous study aides during my years in college. Most of all, I feel it is important to teach kids HOW to study and not just WHAT to study.
