I approach teaching in a way that is very versatile and I am willing to adapt to accommodate a variety of learning styles. In general however I tend to back up and work on the material that the student already is familiar and comfortable with. Once some review on the known material has been done I like to begin moving toward the material that is currently being reviewed. The length of time spent in the "review phase" is completely dependent on the student's current situation. Some situations might require a mere problem or two in this phase, while others might require additional time understanding the fundamentals before moving to the more complex current problems.

Throughout my education experience, I was taught that whole learning is the best form of education. An education is not just gained through books; every life experience is capable of teaching a child. Math can be taught through books, games or even by counting the number of sprinkles on their sundae. Science can be taught by explaining why the cloud is in the sky and why it is raining. My experience has taught me that each child is different and how they learn is different. Each experience must be tailored to each child and when accomplished the child will excel. This is not always easy, but the reward of seeing that moment of comprehension in a child’s eyes is worth the effort!
