If necessary, I separate an idea into simpler terms, and help students learn each term before continuing. I give examples which illustrate a point or demonstrate a procedure. At times, my students write short essays, which I critique for sentence structure, word choice, tense matching, and organization. When a student is reading aloud, I follow along, interjecting if necessary with the correct pronunciation or the proper syllable emphasis.

I have also worked as a civil engineer and have directly applied my civil engineering degree in designing grading and utility plans for commercial developments. I am a teacher at heart and many of the students and other professionals in my classes have said that I should change professions. I approach teaching as a process of understanding why certain activities or processes are required to get an answer. I treat all computer/math/study activities/problems in a way that students understand the logic of the steps taken.
