For three years at Geneva College (2007-2010) I served as a math tutor, tutoring underprivileged, unmotivated, underachieving students at the local high school. Although I loved mentoring the young adults, unfortunately because of relocation back to Maine I was unable to continue the job. Finally for another 3 years I worked as a junior high and high school math tutor in high school. Once again I was unable to keep this due to relocation to college but I learned a lot and look forward to continuing my tutoring career.
I love teaching and interacting with all students, although my preference is junior high and high school as I have helped out in these areas before. A Little Bit About Me...

As a current graduate student I have had the opportunity to learn a great deal about the effective techniques and skills it takes for one to succeed within the classroom. I have so far earned my BS in Clinical Psychology and am currently working on my Masters in Business Administration, which have both given me a much greater appreciation and understanding of the importance of organization, promptness, and communication as each pertains to being a successful student. During my time as an undergraduate student I was able to tutor my peers in a variety of areas, all pertaining to English-related materials, which in turn allowed me to enhance my own skills as a student and tutor.

I have always been interested in teaching others, in particular, teaching children with special needs. The majority of my experience teaching is teaching children with special needs including many children with autism. The degrees I have earned in Psychology and Special Education have allowed me to gain an understanding in many areas, including social sciences, education, science, social studies, etc. I also have learned many grammatical skills due to writing research papers and various reports and essays in various areas of study.
