I love tutoring students because through my experience I have learned that one on one time can be really beneficial to all students. During this time I am able to really talk with students to figure out what their specific needs are. I can also help students learn specific study and reading skills. Through my experience, I have seen the most improvement with students when they have one on one time with their tutor or teacher.
I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. From there, I chose to move to Massachusetts to participate in a ground breaking fellowship at MATCH Charter Public High School. I chose this alternate route to receiving teaching certification because of the classroom experience it provided me. In addition to earning certification and completing student teaching hours, I tutored for 20-30 hours a week in all subject areas in grades 9, 10, and 11.
